The world loves soccer.  The world has gathered in Qatar for the World Cup or glued to their devices to watch the matches.  The fans are crazy with emotions.  If you are a soccer fan, you will know what I am talking about.  They scream, yell, dance, bawl and weep.  I just watched the end of the Croatia and Brazil match and saw all these emotions.  The word that comes to my mind is delirious.

What is it about humans that we can exhibit such passion over twenty-two individuals chasing a round ball and trying to get it into the opponent’s goal?  And yet, when the most significant event in the world happens, the birth of God, Jesus, takes place; there is no such outburst.  Complete silence until heaven breaks forth in song.

However, I am convinced that the next time Jesus comes, the outburst of emotion will be greater than a thousand soccer stadiums filled with delirious fans.  I can’t wait to experience the ecstatic joy of His second coming.
