This is Homecoming weekend for many Adventist schools, including Fresno Adventist Academy’s 100th Homecoming.  It is also my fortieth-year Homecoming from Walla Walla College.   I have been to many homecomings.  It is always fun to see former classmates, get caught up, and swap memories.  Homecoming is all about returning to the place of fond memories and friends.  As we reflect on our Homecoming weekend, let us remember, “It's not how you entered FAA but how you left FAA that matters.”

This morning I was reading King David’s ascents Psalm 122.  In this Psalm, David is rejoicing with those going up to Jerusalem and the house of the Lord.  As I read it, it struck me as an appropriate Psalm for FAA’s Alumni Homecoming, especially verses 6-9. Therefore, I am taking the liberty to paraphrase and apply these verses to FAA.  “Pray for the peace of FAA:  ‘May those who love you be secure.  May there be peace within your walls and security within your fences.’ For the sake of my brothers, sisters, and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be within you.’ For the sake of the Lord’s school, I will seek its prosperity.”

To all who were students and or staff, let us pray for the well-being of Fresno Adventist Academy.  May FAA experience peace, security, and prosperity.
