My mother was an accomplished seamstress. She made countless outfits for her family. She also made hundreds of outfits for my sister's Barbie dolls. She would make sweaters for us on her machine. She would make family matching outfits. Those were okay while we were young but were embarrassing when I was in junior high and high school. But my favorite outfit was an orange denim outfit that I would wear a blue broad collared polyester shirt and brown platform shoes. I wore that outfit with pride and distinction constantly to high school. It was my signature outfit. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures with me in that outfit. Now you can buy a replica of one like it for $45 on Amazon. Check it out. Ten years later, I still had that outfit when I got married. I think you can guess what happened next.
This morning I read Isaiah 61:10, "I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness." I may no longer have an orange suit, but I now have an everlasting suit made white in the blood of the Lamb. Now, this is an outfit to wear daily with pride and distinction.
